Debian Cron Log

By default the logging for the cron demon is not active in Debian . To activate it, open the file

/etc/rsyslog.conf

uncomment the line

# cron.* /var/log/cron.log

Restart rsyslog

/etc/init.d/rsyslog restart

You will find the cron logs in /var/log/cron.log

  1. You have so much JavaScript junk on your page that I couldn’t copy the “/etc/init.d/rsyslog restart” snippet using my mouse. Either that, or you disabled copying, which is nice.

    Anyway, thanks for the tip.

    • Hi, yes i’ve disabled copying, but if it’s causing problems for people I’ll re-enabled it 🙂 thanks for letting me know and the comment.
